Common questions
How accurate are the readings?
Readings are unweighted device estimates derived from microphone levels. The initial reference is provisional. Compare with a reference sound meter and use Settings → Calibration for a correction. This does not certify your device. The app does not report certified dBA values, exposure limits, or impulse peaks.
Is audio saved?
The microphone runs while metering. Expo Audio creates temporary audio in the app cache; the app deletes it on stop and cleans orphaned files on the next start. Saved sessions contain readings, names, and notes. CSV export uses the system share sheet. There is no audio playback or cloud session storage.
What happens if the app is interrupted?
The session pauses when you leave the meter, background the app, or lose the microphone. Tap Resume to continue. A checkpoint recovers a paused session after termination; an abrupt kill can lose the last five seconds. Each session can last up to one hour; the library holds up to 100 sessions without deleting old ones automatically.
Microphone permission was denied
Use Open microphone settings in the app, then allow microphone access in your device's privacy or app-permission settings and return to the app.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open the purchase screen and choose Restore Purchases while signed into the same Apple or Google account used for the original purchase.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the store where you purchased them. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
How do I request a refund?
Payments are processed by Apple or Google. Refund eligibility is governed by their policies and applicable law.
How do I control analytics or delete local data?
You can deny or revoke microphone and tracking permissions in system settings. Uninstalling the app or clearing its app data removes local settings, calibration, and session history. You can delete individual sessions from their detail screen. Uninstalling does not delete provider records or cancel subscriptions. For a privacy or data-deletion request, email the support address and name the app.
