Decibel Meter Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026.
This policy explains how Omnaris LLC ("Omnaris," "we," "us," or "our"), the publisher and controller of the information described here, handles information when you use Decibel Meter. It applies to the iOS and Android versions of the app.
Summary
Noise estimates, graphs, session statistics, and calibration are processed on your device. The app has no user accounts. We do not intentionally include microphone audio, readings, session names, or notes in telemetry.
Information handled on your device
- Microphone: Expo Audio writes temporary cache audio while metering. It is deleted when metering stops; orphaned cache audio is cleaned before a new start. An abrupt termination can leave temporary audio until the next start.
- Sessions: Timestamped readings, duration, calibration correction, session names, and notes are stored locally. Deleting a session removes its local record. Uninstalling the app removes local history and calibration.
- Export: When you choose Export CSV, the system share sheet handles the exported readings and notes. The receiving app or destination has its own privacy practices. The temporary export is removed when sharing finishes.
- Tracking choice: The operating system records optional tracking consent. Denying tracking does not disable the meter.
Information sent off your device
The app may send the following limited information to service providers:
| Provider | Information and purpose |
|---|---|
| Apple App Store or Google Play | Processes payments and maintains purchase and subscription records under your store account. Omnaris does not receive your full payment-card details. |
| RevenueCat | Receives a pseudonymous app-user identifier and purchase, subscription, and entitlement information so the app can unlock paid access and restore purchases. |
| Expo EAS | Receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, app/version/platform information, launch and performance measurements, update metadata, and named product events, including saved-session sample counts and export actions. |
| Sentry | Receives crash and error diagnostics such as stack traces, app version, operating system, device model, and the feature in which an error occurred. Default personally identifiable information and session replay are disabled. |
| Vexo | When configured and tracking permission is granted, receives pseudonymous device/session information and interaction events used to understand app usage. Session replay is disabled. |
We do not intentionally include microphone audio, readings, session names, notes, or calibration, contact information, or payment-card details in analytics or crash reports. Internet services may necessarily process an IP address when receiving a request.
Support messages and this website
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments through Google Gmail. We use them to answer your request, troubleshoot issues, and handle privacy or purchase inquiries. Please send only information needed for your request; avoid private photos, recordings, precise coordinates, and payment-card details.
Cloudflare Pages hosts these support and policy pages. Cloudflare processes connection information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to deliver and protect the website. These pages contain no advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms, or cookies set by our code. Cloudflare may process technical data for its network and security services.
Why we process information
We process this information to provide purchases and restoration, operate and secure the app, diagnose failures, measure performance, understand feature usage, and improve Decibel Meter. Where required, optional Vexo analytics is based on your consent. Operational processing is based on providing the app and our legitimate interests in reliability and security.
Sharing and sales
We share information with the service providers described in this policy, when you direct us to do so, to complete a business transfer, or when law requires it. We do not sell personal information and do not use noise readings for advertising.
We require providers acting on our behalf to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable law. Apple and Google also process store-account and payment information under their own policies.

Retention and security
Local information remains until you remove it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Device backups controlled by you or your operating-system provider may retain a copy; manage those backups separately. Saved or shared exports must be deleted from their destination separately.
We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve requests and maintain a record of the resolution. We retain purchase records as needed to provide and restore access, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Diagnostics and usage records follow provider retention settings and are retained only as needed for reliability, security, and product improvement. Retention depends on the type of record, whether a request or dispute remains open, and legal requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete records already held by providers or cancel a subscription. To request deletion of information we control, email the contact below and name the app. We will seek enough information to locate the record and verify the request, then delete eligible information or explain any required retention. We cannot delete your Apple or Google store account or records those companies must keep.
Network requests to our providers use encrypted HTTPS connections. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can deny or revoke microphone and tracking permissions in system settings. You may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of personal information controlled by Omnaris, or object to certain processing, subject to applicable law. Because the app uses pseudonymous identifiers and has no account, we may need information from you to locate a provider record and may not be able to associate every record with you.
To make a privacy request, email danilsidorov8625@gmail.com. You can withdraw consent for optional tracking without affecting prior lawful processing. We respond to rights requests within the time required by applicable law. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Children
Decibel Meter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Do not enable optional tracking for a child unless permitted by applicable law and the platform's family settings.
International processing
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose laws may differ from those where you live. Appropriate contractual or legal transfer protections are used where required.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app, its providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
